Since 2015 První plicní ambulance s.r.o. provides at both its branches (Prosek and Vysočany) outpatient respiratory rehabilitation led by experienced physiotherapists. As part of this care we can help patients with respiratory disorders caused by lung diseases (COPD, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, sarcoidosis, etc.) but also extrapulmonary causes (conditions after chest or abdomen surgery, postural disorders, muscle imbalances). Our physiotherapists are also involved in the rehabilitation of patients with gastroesophageal reflux.
If rehabilitation care is indicated by a specialist from the První plicní ambulance it is covered by public health care - Health Insurance Company VZP, ZP Ministry of the Interior and ZP Vojenská. The patient can also order respiratory rehabilitation as a self-payer. We also offer consultations or seminars for those who do not suffer from respiratory disorders, but would like to take care of their respiratory system preventively (paid service).
The goal of respiratory rehabilitation is to achieve maximum functional independence and self-sufficiency in the patient's normal daily activities, reduce dyspnea and increase tolerance to physical activity, activate respiratory muscles, facilitate expectoration and improve the mobility of mucus from the peripheral airways. If the patient is prescribed an inhaler or breathing aid, we will train him in their use.
